DUBAI: TakaHisa’s chefs, Takashi Namekata and Hisao Ueda, hosted culinary masterclasses on Feb. 23 as part of Dubai’s Gulfood exhibition.

The chefs recently hosted a collaborative dinner with acclaimed Chef Christian Le Squer from Le Cinq at the Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris on Feb. 20 at the exhibition, where guests enjoyed a crafted nine-course menu.

Namekata, known as Chef Taka, prepared one of his signature dishes, toro and caviar. He prepared it by using Japanese bluefin tuna and taijun.

Moreover, Ueda, known as Chef Hisa, prepared Kobe beef katsu sando, one of Japan’s most popular sandwiches. “My mission is to cook delicious flavors with wonderful ingredients by using all parts of beef,” the chef shared.

The audience was amazed by the skills of the executive chefs of TakaHisa restaurant, where they mentioned the importance of the quality of the ingredients for their dishes.

TakaHisa was selected in the 2023 Michelin Guide for Dubai. It is currently the only Japanese restaurant that was awarded two toques in the Gault & Millau UAE 2023 listings, which is an annual event that celebrates chefs and restaurants.

Gulfood was held at Dubai’s World Trade Center and is considered one of the world’s largest food exhibitions.
