TOKYO: Bakers from all parts of Japan came together at the Yokohama Festival of Bread 2024 to demonstrate their talents as they competed for prizes.

This year’s theme was “Spring Mix” and around 46 stores and Bakeries from all over the country vied to produce bread that contained a taste of “spring happiness.”

Thousands of visitors formed long lines as they waited patiently to taste the special, but limited edition of bread sold only at the venue.

The participating bakers came from bakeries and farms all around Japan and showcased their talents by producing bread mixed with various fruits, a variety of flowers, meats, sweet beans, potatoes and even bamboo charcoal.

Organizers said it is a rare Japanese-Western collaboration that is only available in early spring.

The Festival was first held in the spring of 2016 at Yokohama’s Red Brick Building and has attracted more than 1.25 million visitors as one of the largest bread events in Japan.
