The Pokémon company has collaborated with Google to give fans a chance to pick their favorite Pokémon of the year and the results are in.
The number one Pokémon fans voted for was Greninja with 140559 votes. The top 10 list included the popular Kanto Ghost-type Gengar, Psychic-type Gardevior, with Rayquaza, Garchomp, and Sylveon. Umbreon took the number five spot, with Charizard, Mimikyu, and Lucario.
It has been a longstanding debate amongst fans on which Pokémon is the best, with Pikachu, Bulbasaur and Charizard often making the list.
The poll included over 1,000 characters to choose from, with every single evolution released during the franchise offered.
Since its launch in 1996, the fans were excited to be able to cast their votes for the 23-year-old Japanese anime series.
