TOKYO: Dark Emerald Studios, an Emirati indie-game publisher with a mission of creating fantastic, exciting worlds for the players to explore, has participated at Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2024 that was held from Sept. 26 to 29, at Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba, to showcase Enci’s Solution, their first official 3D platforming game project that ties fast movement, planned execution, and tight mechanics with rich narratives & visuals told seamlessly.

“TGS has been great so far. The opportunity to present our work on this global platform is a big step for us,” Dark Emerald Studios’ CEO and Managing Director Ahmed Al Hamed. “The first two days we met a few executives that showed interest in what we’re doing and we’re getting a lot more visitors from the general public. It’s demanding but rewarding work for sure.

“We are a small indie company with a lot to learn, and TGS helped us learn so much on how to participate more successfully. We are glad we had the opportunity to showcase our game to the world,” he added.

About the response and feedback from the visitors who came to the booth at TGS, Al Hamed said: “Most people loved the visuals and art of the game, but our game is quite difficult. The players who could catch onto the game quickly really enjoyed the demo more.”

“One thing that (was challenging) was localization. Communicating what we are about and who we are is a little difficult with the language barrier but, we are adapting and learning better ways to approach visitors in the way that works for them,” he shared.

The CEO shared that the company’s participation was a learning experience for the company. “There are areas we should definitely improve, with both the game and how we work but I really believe in the people in our team and the ability to overcome difficulty to achieve whatever we set ourselves to do,” he said.
