
TOKYO: Grammy-winning singer Harry Styles took on the Tokyo Marathon on Sunday, completing the 26.2-mile race in an impressive time of 3 hours, 24 minutes and 7 seconds.
The 31-year-old artist joined thousands of runners navigating the streets of Japan’s capital. Styles’ performance placed him 6,010th out of the 26,706 finishers, surpassing more than 20,000 competitors.
Styles was seen acknowledging fans as he ran, giving a thumbs-up in one video.
According to preliminary records from the Tokyo Marathon’s official website, he maintained a steady pace throughout the race, completing the first half in 1:42:03 and the second half in 1:42:04.
His average pace of 7:47 per mile saw him record his fastest 5K split, 23 minutes and 16 seconds, between the 30K and 35K marks, according to Runner’s World.
The marathon’s men’s champion, Tadese Takele, finished with a time of 2:03:23.
