DUBAI: Kluna is a Japanese handcrafted jewelry brand in the UAE that was founded by Kyoko Halim, a Japanese resident of Dubai who used to dream of designing jewelry.

Halim came to the UAE last year, where she worked as a cabin crew member. “I noticed everyone here is so kind, friendly, and hardworking. They cherish their own culture and country, which is amazing.”

Halim shared exclusively with Arab News Japan the story and challenges behind establishing the jewelry brand: “I launched my jewelry brand in 2019 and my concept is simple and classy. I make mindful jewelry that tells a story of love and passion. I primarily use Japanese pure pearls, which have organic and natural beauty and they are called Moon Drops in Japan, which are known as precious gems that are created by incredible coincidence.”

“The women in the UAE definitely inspired me a lot. I wish that my passion and jewelry will bring true beauty and happiness to women around the world, especially in UAE, and be something meaningful in their lives,” she added.

Halim mentioned that the response and feedback for Kluna has been positive. “I gained much good feedback so far that they love my jewelry because it’s handmade with high-quality pearls. I believe that these magnificent pearls, with my Japanese sensitivity and passion, make each piece truly elegant and classy and bring true beauty to women around the world,” she said.

The founder said that she is inspired by some aspects of Japanese culture, such as social harmony and cherishing the beauty of imperfection. She hopes that she can collaborate with other fashion brands, like clothing and beachwear, in the near future.
