
TOKYO: The Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Centre for Arabic Language Education has officially opened at Tokyo’s Keio University, fostering deeper cultural relations between Japan and the Arab world.
The initiative, by Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, promotes Arab culture globally, provides an Arabic language program and expands the academic research in Arabic studies.
The opening ceremony was attended by the UAE’s Minister of State Maitha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Keio University’s president Kohei Itoh, Deputy Head of Mission of the UAE Embassy in Japan Marwan Alnaqbi, and Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at the United Arab Emirates University Mohamed Bin Huwaidin.
Various ambassadors, university vice presidents, faculty members, and students interested in Arabic language studies also attended the opening ceremony.
Previously, the United Arab Emirates University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Japanese university to support the integration of Arabic language programs in Japan.
