The classic chocolate sandwich cookie Oreo is set to release two new flavors inspired by popular Japanese ingredients, including Peach Oolong and Sakura Matcha concoction, just in time for spring.
The Sakura Matcha flavored Oreo deviates from the cookie’s original black and white color with pink-colored biscuits and green match filling, which will be made from real matcha powder in order to provide the iconic Japanese taste that is both, sweet and bitter.
Meanwhile, the Peach Oolong flavored Oreo will have the traditional black-colored biscuits with peach-colored filling that have a fruity taste of peach and oolong tea.
The designs on the packaging of both boxes also have Japanese-themes, which are designed in accordance to the colors of the transformed cookies.
For example, the Sakura Matcha flavored boxes are pink and green with pictures of blossoming cherry blossoms as well as a match bowl.
While the Peach Oolong flavored boxes are peach and green with pictures of peaches.
Unfortunately, the flavors are currently only sold on Hong Kong from April 17 until and May 1.
