Japanese social media celebrity Pikotaro unveiled a new song and video on the final night of the Pokémon Virtual Fest on August 31 with the character Pikachu titled “Pika to Pico.”

Pikotaro, whose real name is Kazuhito Kosaka, wore a headband with Pikachu ears, a gold animal print outfit complete with sunglasses a scarf, and two red dots on his face while Pikachu imitated the entertainer’s signature style by wearing gold-rimmed sunglasses and an animal print scarf as they both preform.

Throughout the video, Pikachu sings one line of the song, then waits for Pikotaro to translate the verse into English. The translated version of the song contains unusual lyrics such as “Beef,” “Finland!” and “We got you! Never! Never! Never! We got you.”

Despite the obvious language barrier which impedes their ability to communicate with each other, they continue to perform a synchronized dance that ends with Pikachu blasting Pikotaro with a powerful jolt of electricity.

Writing to his 668,000 subscribers, the Japanese entertainer said: “We wanted to make something special that will make everyone smile and have fun at home as people worldwide are staying home this summer. There are obviously gaps in the conversation between Pikachu and Pikotaro, but you’ll definitely see them having a good time interacting with each other!”
