Japanese watch manufacturer Seiko will launch a themed collection of sport watches inspired by Naruto and the sequel Boruto, that are set to release in December.
Seiko will only manufacture and sell 6,500 of the themed Seiko 5 Sports model, making this a limited collection.
The sport watches will be modeled after different characters, including Naruto, Boruto, Gaara, Shikamaru, Sasuke, Rock Lee and Sarada
Each model will vary in the colours, and style—the bezel, and markers will give the watches a unique touch along with the colour combination of the strap influenced by the character identities.
The Naruto watch will be predominantly orange and black, where as Boruto’s will be both pink and black.
Seiko’s website states that Naruto’s watch evokes his “iconic Ninja outfit, and the worn-like bezel and case reflect the tough training required to become a Hokage, a title bestowed on the leader of the Hidden Leaf Village where Naruto belongs.”
Seiko will also include features unique to characters like the mesh-like bezel on Shikamaru’s watch as well as the multi-colored bezel of Rock Lee’s to reflect the green and white of his costume.
Some watches will also include special details, like the Hidden Leaf Village symbol engraved on Sasuke’s watch mirroring the same symbol on the character’s headpiece.
With regard to Sarada’s watch, “the “Fire Style: Fire Ball Jutsu” Sarada inherited from her father Sasuke, is expressed in the red gradation dial. The single Tomoe mark on the 5 o’clock position indicates she is still a young Ninja in training in pursuit of improving her ‘Sharingan,'” Seiko states.
Gaara’s watch will include the Japanese character for ‘love,’ inspired by his forehead tattoo.
Seiko also mention how the “Uzumaki Clan’s Kamon, or Japanese emblem used to decorate and identify an individual, family, or institution, is printed on the case back” for each of the characters.
Each watch will be placed in a scroll package to add to the theme.
