Japanese fans of Lebanese soprano, Majida El Roumi, have shared a video in celebration of the star’s birthday, expressing their admiration and welcoming her to visit Japan.
The video which features a compilation of fans sharing kind words addressed to the soprano was posted on El Roumi’s Instagram page on Dec. 13
“Majida-san, please come to Japan!” one group of fans shared.
“Please come to see the cherry blossoms next year Majida-san, we are looking forward to you coming to Japan,” another said.
One Japanese fan said: “I love you Majida! Please let me hear your sweet songs in Japan. We are waiting for you!”
The video also includes snippets of Japanese students sharing messages in Arabic.
The renowned soprano, is famous for her hits “Kalimat,” “Ana Am Behlam” and “Sahrit Eid,” and El Roumi has performed at many notable events including: Cedars international festival, Beiteddine festival, the international festival of Carthage, Mawazine, and at the Cairo Opera House.
The star has also been a UN FAO Goodwill Ambassador since 2001, and advocates for love and peace through music.
In June, the renowned soprano was featured on the Vogue Arabia cover – her first magazine shoot in her 45-year-long career.
