TOKYO: The rain didn’t prevent dozens of people in Tokyo from flocking to watch a giant hyper-realistic 3D cat on display at the corner of a high-rise building in the Shinjuku district in central Tokyo.

MicroAd Digital Signage and Yunika Vision developed the cat under the commission of Cross Space, the owner of the building. The aim was to please the masses that cross the area every day.

The site’s official opening will be on July 12, and the current displays of 4K resolution are tests, the company said.

The screen with LEDs that also broadcast advertisements shows the cat six times every hour in different positions depending on the time of day, gaining the attention of Japanese people and foreign tourists.

A Venezuelan woman told Arab News Japan that she had first seen the cat online and decided to come to the building and take first-hand clips for her friends in her country.
