Expo 2020 Dubai will not only celebrate innovations that help create a better future but will also be offering a futuristic culinary experience in collaboration with UK design studio Bompas & Parr.
The experience, The Future of Food: Epochal Banquet, is inspired by space, microbiology, artificial intelligence and hyperintelligence. The dining experience will also offer glow-in-the-dark dishes, food made using rare ingredients, and flavour-changing desserts.
“The Future of Food immersive experience is extremely exciting, offering foodies and the curious a world-first taste of the culinary experiences of tomorrow, while also delving into pressing global challenges based around food security and how innovation and food will combine in the future,” Chief Experience Officer at Expo 2020 Dubai, Marjan Faraidooni, said in a statement.
Bompas & Parr helped bring this concept to life, and the multi-disciplinary studio has worked with a range of brands, artistic institutions, private clients and governments.The studio is also well known for their jelly architectural structures, among other projects.
“We are thrilled to be bringing The Future of Food: Epochal Banquet to a global audience at Expo 2020 Dubai, where we hope to inspire diners to think positively about the reality of technology-infused dishes. Each course will take guests deeper into the future through first-of-its-kind dishes, as well as immersive experiences that stir each of the senses,” Sam Bompas, Director, Bompas & Parr shared.
The multi-course concept will also touch on other themes like artificial intelligence, food waste and future nutrition.
Expo 2020 Dubai will take place from 1 Oct. to March 31 2022 and the dining experience will be available for bookings throughout, priced at $149.74.
