DUBAI: The official logo for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and the UAE was recently announced.

The logo was selected among 122 entries through consultations between the governments of Japan and the UAE.

Dave Martin, the creator of the logo, lives in Dubai and was inspired by the falcon, symbolizing the UAE that is “soaring high.” And the cherry blossom, which is blooming on the rising sun symbolizing Japan.

The logo will be used in the commemorative events that will be held throughout the year in both countries.

The competition was announced earlier this year, and the deadline was in May. Submissions for the logo were welcome from anyone regardless of nationality, age or place of residence.
