JEDDAH: Dates for the Spanish Super Cup taking place in Riyadh have been confirmed, with Real Madrid taking on Barcelona in the first semi-final on Jan. 12 at King Fahd International Stadium.
The four teams competing in the event, which runs from Jan.12-16, are La Liga champions Atletico Madrid and runners-up Real and Copa del Rey winners Barcelona and runners-up Athletic Bilbao.
The second semi is between Atletico and Athletic Bilbao on Jan. 13, with the final on Jan. 16.
The Super Cup is returning to Saudi Arabia two years after it was hosted in Jeddah, when Real beat Atletico 4-1 on penalties.
The meeting between Real and Barca will be the first time “El Clasico” has been played in the Kingdom.
