With ornate lanterns, colorful fabrics, golden jugs and dates, Japanese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Fumio Iwai took to social media to address the Muslim community wishing them a blessed Ramadan.

The Embassy of Japan in Saudi Arabia posted a video on Twitter of Iwai celebrating the start of the Islamic holy month by giving a speech.
“Peace, mercy and blessings of God be upon you on the advent of the blessed month of Ramadan. I extend my best wishes to all of you and I’m pleased to share my joy of spending the month of Ramadan with you in the Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia. I am sure that Ramadan this year will be distinguished by with a special feature thanks to the efforts implemented by the wise leadership to prevent the spread of corona and with the resumption of social activities, and more importantly the resumption of iftar and suhoor gatherings after two years of restrictions. In conclusion, I hope that this month proves to be a month of goodness for all of you, filled with joy and happiness for all. Ramadan Mubarak,” Iwai said.

Iwai’s participation in Middle Eastern streets customs, presented through designing his house with Ramadan decorations that include the most recognizable symbols to celebrate the holy month, serves as a representation of his willingness to connect with the people of Saudi Arabia and their different traditions.
