DUBAI: Japanese company founded in 1952, Saraya has recently introduced a new type of healthy chocolate to be manufactured and sold in Egypt this year.
The embassy of Japan has recently officially announced on its Facebook page that a new healthy Japanese sugar-free chocolate will be made in Egypt as a method of raising awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle that promotes longevity.
No sugar will be used in the manufacturing process; instead Lakanto will be the main sweetener added to the chocolate bar.
Lakanto originated from the monk fruit, which has been widely used in traditional Chinese medicine; until 1995 when Saraya company started infusing Lakanto into consumer products to make healthier alternatives.
Since Lakanto is 100% natural with no preservatives or artificial flavours; it does not elevate blood sugar or insulin making it a safe option for diabetics as well.
The embassy also announced in its statement that Saraya company is also building a soap and Lakanto factory in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
