DUBAI: Japanese embassy in Qatar celebrated the emperor’s 63rd birthday in Doha on Feb 27th.

Japanese ambassador to Qatar, MAEDA Toru, hosted a reception in the Sheraton hotel in Doha to celebrate the birthday of the emperor of Japan and to commemorate the 51st anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Qatar.

The reception was attended by Mohamed bin Ali bin Mohamed Al-Mannai, minister of information and communications technology, Ibrahim Fakhroo, the director general of protocols at the ministry of foreign affairs, and 300 other diplomatic guests.

MAEDA gave a speech and congratulated Qatar’s great success on hosting the FIFA world cup Qatar 2022; he also addressed bilateral talks such as the second foreign ministers strategic dialogue held in January, which confirmed to expand the partnership by cooperating in various field such as economic, security, defence, and academic and ended the speech with expressing his great desire to further enhance and strengthen the relations with Qatar in many different sectors.

Prior to the reception, MAEDA, held a conference on Feb 23rd to talk about the multi-faceted and strategic importance of Qatar to Japan even beyond the energy sector and the potential future relations opportunities that both countries will share.
