DUBAI: Japanese FM, KAMIKAWA Yoko, met with Ukrainian counterpart, Dmytro Kuleba, in New York on Sept 20.

KAMIKAWA expressed her support to Ukraine and condemned Russia for continuing missile and drone attacks against civilians and civilians facilities.

KAMIKAWA stated her utmost support and claimed that she had been following the situation surrounding Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and have been actively working to resolve the issue before she had taken office.

The Japanese FM held a G7 foreign ministers meeting on Sept 18 in New York to encourage and ensure participation from many countries to work closely with Ukraine in times of great need, especially those in the Indo-Pacific regarding the Peace Formula of President Zelenskyy.

Kuleba expressed appreciation for Japan’s efforts, including the efforts regarding the Peace Formula and the launch of bilateral consultations based on The Joint Declaration of Support for Ukraine.

KAMIKAWA also stated that Japan, as well as other colleagues from The National Diet, provided Ukraine with more than 1500 generators the previous year.

The Japanese foreign minister emphasized Japan’s on-going support to Ukraine during this hardship and Kuleba demonstrated deep gratitude for this effort.
