DUBAI: Japanese Ambassador MAGOSHI Masayuki signed a contract to further Japan’s support for the clearance operations of cluster munition remnants in Lebanon’s Caza of Rachaya and West Bekaa in Bekaa.
Japan granted their support to the Mines Advisory Group (MAG), a non-governmental organization that helps the people who are affected by landmines and has been working in Lebanon since 2000. MAG has collaborated with Japan on a variety of projects over the years.
MAGOSHI thanked MAG’s efforts to clear out CMRs in Lebanon and affirmed that Japan is always ready to help the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) in the mining sector. Sylvain Lefort, MAG’s Country Director, thanked Japan’s for their support and emphasized that this project will change many communities’ lives.
Japan will keep supporting Lebanon in order to bring back security and secure development in the target regions.
