TOKYO: The Council of Arab Ambassadors in Japan called upon all organizations, communities, and individuals in Japan and worldwide to express their solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza and in the Occupied Palestinian Territories and to condemn Israel’s illegal and brutal attacks on Gaza that have resulted in the deaths of many Palestinian women, children, and ordinary citizens.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Council reiterated the call for an immediate ceasefire and a stop to the “barbaric” attack on Gaza, the provision of much-needed humanitarian relief, and an immediate end to the forced displacement of Palestinians, which the Council sees as an egregious violation of international law.

“The Council of Arab Ambassadors in Japan recognizes the importance of presenting a consolidated, transparent and unified position on this crisis,” it said. “By working together and drawing upon the collective wisdom of and the consensus among its member countries, the Council seeks to amplify the voice of the Arab world in its call for an immediate cessation of Israel’s brutal aggression on Gaza.”

“In light of the brutal aggression by Israel on Gaza, and of Israel’s egregious violations of international law, international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions and Protocols, the Council of Arab Ambassadors in Japan appeals for the support of Japanese public and civil organizations for a just and lasting resolution to the Palestinian cause.”

The Council said it wants the Japanese public sector –government bodies, educational institutions, and research centres– to provide accurate information about the situation in Gaza, as well as the Palestinian cause. It zalso urges humanitarian organizations in Japan to acknowledge the importance of humanitarian efforts in Gaza and is seeking collaborations with such organizations.

The statement added: “The Council urges and calls on the international community to force Israel to cease its illegal practices and violations and to abide by international law, international humanitarian law, and the Geneva Convention and Protocols.”

“As we stand united in solidarity with the Palestinian people, we extend our deep condolences for the loss of all the Palestinians killed in the ongoing aggression against Gaza. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the wounded and to the families of the victims who are enduring unimaginable suffering.”

The Council of Arab Ambassadors in Japan is an organization that unites the diplomatic missions of Arab nations in Japan. It serves as a platform for cooperation and collaboration on various regional and international issues, with the aim of fostering understanding, dialogue and cooperation between Arab countries and Japan.
