DUBAI: Japan is extending a grant to the Organization for Social and Agricultural Development (OSAD) to assist with the construction of water pipelines for Ainata, which has been facing a severe shortage of water supplies.
Located in Baalbek-Hermel, Ainata has been unable to construct water pipelines to deal with its huge shortage of public water supplies due to Lebanon’s socio-economic crisis.
On Oct. 17, Ambassador MAGOSHI Masayuki signed a grant contract alongside Hanna El Khoury, President of OSAD. MAGOSHI praised OSAD’s efforts in the water sector, adding that Japan will continue to help Lebanese people. Khoury shared that he is grateful for Japan’s generous support for this project.
The OSAD project will provide safe water at affordable costs for around 2,700 Ainata residents.
