DUBAI: Japan extends a grant to the Tafaol Association to install advanced medical equipment at Lebanon’s Mashaal Medical Center through the grant assistance for Grassroots Human Security Program (GGP).
The GGP is a framework that helps non-governmental organizations (NGOs) implement small projects that benefit people at grassroots level. As of 2022, 308 GGP projects have been supported by various organizations in Lebanon.
Established in 2019 by the Lebanese NGO Tafaol Association in West Bekaa, Mashaal Medical Center provides essential primary healthcare to vulnerable communities.
Japan will extend its support to provide for the center’s ophthalmology, obstetrics, and gynecology departments, which will help more than 4,500 patients annually access medical services at affordable costs.
On Oct. 17, Ambassador MAGOSHI Masayuki signed a grant contract with Abd El Kader Al Askar, President of the Tafaol Association, where he shared that Japan is keen on helping the vulnerable people in Lebanon. The Tafaol Association expressed its gratitude for Japan’s support.
