
TOKYO: The 14th Japan-Iran Human Rights Dialogue was held in Tokyo on Monday, with the two countries exchanging views on a variety of issues, including their respective measures in the field of human rights and cooperation at the United Nations.
The Dialogue was led IMAFUKU Takao, Ambassador in charge of UN Affairs and Deputy Assistant Minister in the Foreign Policy Bureau of Japan’s Foreign Ministry, and, on the Iranian side, Ambassador Seyed Mohsen Emadi, the Deputy Director-General of Human Rights and the Women’s Affairs Department in Iran’s Foreign Ministry, a Japanese official statement said.
Japan has a good relationship with Iran but remains sensitive to the problems surrounding Iran’s relationship with another key ally, the United States.
