
Tokyo: Temperatures soared to 27.5 degrees Celsius in central Tokyo on Tuesday, making it the hottest November day in the Japanese capital on record, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.
Tokyo marked the third “summer” day this month with temperatures of 25 degrees or higher, and the 143rd such day this year, renewing the annual record.
Elsewhere in the country, the city of Kofu, Yamanashi Prefecture, west of Tokyo, recorded a daily high of 28.4 degrees.
About 30 observation points across the country renewed their November record highs, including Yokohama, south of Tokyo, with 27.3 degrees.
Temperatures in the Kanto region, including Tokyo, and nearby areas rose due to southerly winds.
