
TOKYO: Japanese Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio on Thursday expressed condolences over the death of former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.
“He has made great achievements for regional peace and stability, including normalizing US-China diplomatic relations,” Kishida told reporters at the prime minister’s office after Kissinger died on Wednesday aged 100. “I would like to express my heartfelt respect for his great footsteps and offer my sincere condolences.”
“I myself have met him in person several times and received his insights,” the prime minister said.
