DUBAI: Palestinian Ambassador to Japan Waleed Siam met with Deputy Foreign Minister TSUJI Kiyoto on Wednesday and discussed the deteriorating situation in the Gaza Strip.

Tsuji explained that it was important to continue efforts to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza, as Israel continues its bombardment of the besieged enclave.

Tsuji said the situation was “triggered by the terrorist attacks conducted by Hamas.”

The deputy foreign minister expressed his gratitude for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ message of sympathy after the Noto Peninsula earthquake and the plane crash at Haneda Airport that occurred in January.

The two officials agreed to continue cooperating closely to attempt to maintain regional stability.
