DUBAI: Japan will extend a grant to Lebanon to establish an exhibition facility at an archaeological site in Batroun, which aims to preserve its culture and heritage.

Batroun has various ruins dating back to 1400 BC, but due to Lebanon’s economic crisis, adequate measures have not been taken to conserve and exhibit these archaeological sites.

The grant, which will be extended to ADUNA through the Grant Assistance for Cultural Grassroots Projects, will safeguard Lebanon’s heritage and foster appreciation for the cultural diversity in the Middle East region.

Ambassador MAGOSHI Masayuki signed the grant contract on Thursday alongside Rola Saade, ADUNA’s president.

During the signing ceremony, Magoshi emphasized Japan’s commitment to protect and preserve the cultural heritage of Lebanon. Saade thanked the Japanese government for its generous support.
