
TOKYO: The Ruyat-e-Hilal Committee-Japan today announced that the first day of Ramadan, 1445 A.H., is confirmed for Tuesday, March 12, 2024, in Japan.
The committee said in a statement that as the Hilal (Crescent) was neither sighted in Japan nor Malaysia on 29 Shaban, 1445 A.H., which falls on March 10, 2024, it was decided by the Fatwa of Ulama to follow Malaysian Islamic authorities on which is the Ramadan’s first day.
The committee has 5 board members representing various Muslim organizations in Japan.
