Japan to give $1m aid to Taiwan for earthquake relief, foreign minister says

TOKYO: Japan will provide $1 million in relief aid to Taiwan to support rescue activities and recovery from Wednesday’s strong earthquake, foreign minister KAMIKAWA Yoko said on Friday.

Japanese Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio on Wednesday posted on social media that Japan was ready to provide any assistance if requested, calling Taiwan Japan’s “important friend” and “neighbour across the sea”.
