TOKYO: Japanese Foreign Minister KAMIKAWA Yoko and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell on Thursday agreed that the two countries will work together to achieve concrete results based on an April bilateral summit.
In their meeting in Paris, Campbell told Kamikawa that the summit between Japanese Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio and U.S. President Joe Biden was the most important in the history of the two countries, the Japanese Foreign Ministry said Friday.
Campbell said it is important for Japan and the United States to cooperate with each other and with emerging economies in science and technology, including artificial intelligence and quantum computing.
Kamikawa and Campbell also agreed to work closely with like-minded countries, including in Europe, on regional and international issues.
