TOKYO: Japan’s Foreign Minister, KAMIKAWA Yoko, congratulated her Egyptian counterpart, Dr. Badr Ahmed Mohamed Abdel-Aty, on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Migration and Emigration. She expressed her hope that his leadership will be instrumental in furthering stability and prosperity in Egypt and that his contributions will be pivotal in maintaining peace and stability in the entire region.

Kamikawa also stated in a statement that the ongoing bilateral cooperation between the two countries is mutually beneficial, progressing in a wide range of areas, including politics, security, and the economy. She reiterated Japan’s commitment to support Egypt as much as possible to further strengthen the relationship. 

The Japanese Foreign Minister also mentioned Minister Abdel-Aty’s background, having previously worked at the Egyptian Embassy in Japan and said she is looking forward to meeting him at the Tokyo International Conference on African Development Ministerial Meeting that is held in August.
