TOKYO: The Ministry of Defense made public on Friday that there were no particular abnormalities, such as requests for the dispatch of SDF, during the activities for January and February of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF), which was dispatched to the Middle East to secure the safe navigation of sea lane vessels.

The escort ship Takanami, which started collecting information on February 26, confirmed about 500 ships in the Gulf of Oman and the open seas of the northern Arabian Sea until March 29.

A P3C patrol unit, also serving as tackle with pirate issues, identified approximately 2,500 ships from January 20 to February 29 in the Gulf of Aden and the high seas in northwest of Arabian Sea.
