TOKYO: Japan and Italy co-chaired the third Working Level Meeting of the Coast Guard Global Summit (CGGS) on October 23 and 24 with 70 Coast Guards and relevant organization participating in the meeting.
Items discussed included the health of the ocean and climate change; artificial intelligence and maritime domain awareness; carbon fuel units; and law enforcement. These topics will be part of the agenda of the 4th CGGS to be held next September.
The meeting was co–chaired by NAKAGAWA Tetsuhiro, Director, International Strategy Division of the Japan Coast Guard, and Captain Giulio Piroddi, Head of the International Affairs Office of the Italian Coast Guard.
The Italian Coast Guard announced that the 4th CGGS will be held in Rome on September 11 and 12, 2025.
