TOKYO: A demonstration was held in the Koenji district of Tokyo on Thursday evening calling for an end to the Israeli “genocide” in Gaza.

Despite the cold Tokyo weather, many people came out to join the demonstration near Koenji Station in the northwest part of central Tokyo.

The demonstrators held up banners that read, “Free Palestine” and “Stop Genocide” as they gathered in that district that attracts many students and young people.

Demonstrations opposing the war in Gaza have been held at least weekly in Tokyo for over a year.

The demonstrators shouted, “No more war,” “Stop the genocide,” “No more business with Israel,” and “Free Palestine.”

Some of the demonstrators wore keffiyeh scarves to show their solidarity with the people of Palestine.
