TOKYO: A demonstration took place outside the Israeli Embassy in Tokyo on Monday demanding freedom for Palestine.
One protester held up a sign that said, “The ceasefire is only the first step toward a free Palestine” and demanded that this happens “now and forever.”
The leaders of the protest carried a banner that demanded Israel “fully comply with the ceasefire agreement,” adding, “Never forgive the Genocide in Gaza!”
Protests Israel are held on a weekly basis in Tokyo, sometimes near the Israeli Embassy and on other occasions at busy areas of Tokyo.
The demonstrators often call on the Japanese government to stop helping Israeli defense companies.
One banner on Monday demanded that Japan halt cooperation with companies producing military drones. They also chanted slogans like “Settles go back home” and “Abolish Israel.”
The Japanese government has said that it supports a two-state solution to settle the conflicts between Palestine and Israel.
