WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump said Thursday his administration is looking at the possibility of denying entry to foreign nationals from Japan amid the coronavirus pandemic.
"We're looking at it," Trump said at a press conference, when asked whether Washington will take similar action after Japan expanded its entry ban to include non-Japanese travelers from the United States.
He said, "We're looking at a lot of things and a lot of different bans."
Trump showed his understanding of the Japanese measure. "I think it's fine that they do that. And they're trying to protect their country and we have to protect our country," he said.
