
TOKYO: The 8th Japan-Oman Foreign Policy Dialogue was held in Tokyo on Thursday with the aim of finding ways to further strengthen cooperation between Japan and Oman in a wide range of fields, including diplomatic, economic and defense exchanges, under their Comprehensive Partnership.
The Japanese side was led by ANDO Toshihide, Director-General of the Middle East and African Affairs Bureau of Japan’s Foreign Ministry, while the Omani side was led by Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Issa Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, and Ambassador to Japan Dr. Mohammad Said Khalifa Al Busaidi.
The two sides exchanged views on the situation surrounding the Gaza Strip and the Middle East, as well as East Asia and maritime security.
They said they would further deepen cooperation toward the stabilization of the region and the international community.
The two sides also agree to cooperate on helping to make Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai a success and to further promote people-to-people exchanges through the Expo.
