DUBAI: Japan on Monday introduced a new visa waiver measure for UAE nationals, extending their period of stay with a visa from 30 days to 90 days, starting July 1.

The cooperation between Japan and the UAE is expected to expand thanks to the new visa measures, with an expected increase in the number of tourists from the UAE to Japan.

It is also aimed at the improvement of convenience in conducting business activities between the two countries.

The visa waiver will apply to UAE nationals in possession of valid ordinary passports visiting Japan for a short-term stay, such as for sightseeing, business or visit to relatives/friends.

The UAE has also introduced a Visa Waiver Measure for Japanese nationals in possession of valid Japanese passports for a short-term stay of a period not exceeding 90 days from August 1, 2024.
