TOKYO: Japan’s weather bureau said on Tuesday there is a 60% chance that normal weather conditions will continue towards autumn.

The bureau also said that neither El Nino nor La Nina climate phenomena are currently occurring.

El Nino is a warming of ocean surface temperatures in the eastern and central Pacific. La Nina is characterised by colder-than-usual ocean temperatures in the equatorial Pacific region and is linked to floods and drought.
