Cumulative coronavirus infections in Tokyo top 3,000

The cumulative number of novel coronavirus infection cases in Tokyo exceeded 3,000 on Sunday, with 107 people confirmed to be infected with the virus the same day, according to informed sources.

The cumulative number now stands at 3,082, after a daily record of 201 infection cases were confirmed on Friday and 181 cases on Saturday.

Elsewhere in Japan on Sunday, 26 infections were found in the northernmost prefecture of Hokkaido and 17 in Kanagawa Prefecture, south of Tokyo.
