Japan sent over emergency relief goods to Lebanon on Monday, according to Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after the tragic explosion took place in Beirut August 4, displacing as many as 300,000 residents.

The emergency aid, which included tents, sleeping pads, blankets and others through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), was received at Rafik Hariri International Airport.

The relief goods will be distributed to all those affected by the explosion. According to MOFA, the Government of Japan expressed hope and prayers for the resurrection of Lebanon and is ready to provide support and the necessary cooperation.
