Tokyo’s Disneyland on Friday unveiled to the media its new area featuring the popular movie “Beauty and the Beast,” which is set to be opened to the public on September 28.

The new area includes an attraction, a restaurant and shops inspired by the Disney movie, according to Oriental Land Co., the operator of the theme park in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo.

The number of guests allowed within the area will be restricted in accordance to coronavirus prevention measures.

The new area reproduced the forest scenery and the Beast character’s 30 meter high Castle present in the movie. The castle hosts the attraction, which allows visitors to enjoy famous scenes of the movie, while riding teacup-like vehicles.

Currently, Tokyo Disneyland requires visitors to purchase tickets online beforehand designating the date and time of their planned visits, as it is limiting the number of guests to less than half of the normal levels amid the coronavirus crisis.

Visitors who want to enjoy facilities at the new area will also be required to make reservations on a designated application before entering the theme park.
