DUBAI: Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi offered his condolences in Kuwait on Sunday to Sheikh Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, the country’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Defense, over the passing of the late Emir Sheikh Sabah.
According to the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry, the two ministers discussed bilateral relations and efforts to develop further the two countries’ cooperation in different fields.

Motegi originally planned to visit Saudi Arabia, Portugal and France, but made the unscheduled visit to Kuwait in order to pay his respects to the late Emir.
On Friday, Japan’s FM arrived in Saudi Arabia and had meetings with both Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs in Saudi Arabia, and Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman.
They discussed the G20 Summit under Saudi Arabia’s presidency and the framework of “Japan-Saudi Vision 2030.”
