Japanese MP: Late Emir Sabah contributed to world peace

TOKYO: Kenji Yamada, member of the Japanese ruling Liberal Democratic Party said late emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah contributed greatly to peace not only in the Middle East but also globally. 

Yamada, former parliamentary vice-minister for foreign affairs, visited the Kuwaiti embassy in Tokyo on October 6 and met Ambassador Hasan Zaman to express his condolences.

Ambassador Zaman expressed his appreciation for Yamada’s visit and said the Japan-Kuwait relationship is strong as reflected by Japan’s top leaders paying respect on this sad occasion and standing with Kuwait. 

Ambassador Zaman also told Yamada of  Japan’s Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi’s visit on Sunday who had a condolence call and talks with Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al- Sabah, the Emir of the State of Kuwait.

Ambassador Zaman told Yamada that this visit also shows that Japan-Kuwait relations remain strong, stable and solid with the new leadership in both countries.
