TOKYO: Following Friday prayers at the Tokyo mosque, more than 300 Muslims of different nationalities marched from to Yoyogi Park to protest Israel’s bombing of civilians in Gaza.
A crowd of red, green, white and black flags filled the streets of Tokyo. Indonesian women with children in their arms walked and sang to a backdrop of photos showing bombed out buildings in Palestine.
Muslims from Indonesia, Pakistan, India, Uzbekistan and the Middle East chanted slogans such as, “Israel Terrorist State!”, “Liberate Palestine!” and “Stop killing children.
Japanese Muslims also condemned the actions of the Israeli army on civilians, while an Iraqi Muslim declared that all Muslims are brothers and stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Among the crowd of demonstrators, Catholics, Protestants and Buddhists joined in to show their solidarity and call for peace.
