TOKYO: Japan has adopted new measures for people arriving in the country, with particular attention paid to countries suffering from highly infectious variants, including the United Arab Emirates.
Until now, all immigrants and returnees from the United Arab Emirates have had to wait for three days at a place designated by the local quarantine station director. But from July 9, the wait time will be increased to six days, the foreign ministry in Tokyo said.
For all immigrants and returnees from Egypt, the situation is reversed. Until now, they have had to wait for six days at a place designated by the local quarantine station director, but that has been reduced to three days.
The limit for people coming from Libya will be the same as it is for areas such as Turkey, parts of Russia, and some parts of the United States.
The measures above are subject to persons who have stayed in the designated countries/regions within 14 days before returning to Japan or the day of application for landing in Japan.
