TOKYO: Two Georgian judokas have had their accreditations revoked after going sightseeing outside the Olympic Village in Tokyo.

According to the head of their organization, Vazha Margvelashvili and Lasha Shavdatuashvil left the Olympic Village unchecked after a day of competitions.

With Japan suffering a surge in COVID-19 cases, the Japanese Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games decided to strip accreditation from the two violators of the rules outlined in the Games playbook, which all participants, athletes, staff and journalists must obey.

The IOC and the JOC have implemented an Olympic health bubble and all outings for tourism are prohibited. Athletes must not use public transport and can only use buses and cars assigned to them.
