TOKYO: Japan Airlines said Tuesday it expects to report a group net loss of 146 billion yen for fiscal 2021 to next March, with the prolonged novel coronavirus crisis leading to a slow recovery in air travel demand.
The major Japanese airline will thus log a net loss for the second straight year.
On Friday, industry rival ANA Holdings Inc. revised down its group earnings forecasts for the same year in the face of the lingering impact of the pandemic, projecting a net loss of 100 billion yen, against the earlier estimated profit of 3.5 billion yen.
