TOKYO: Tokyo Governor KOIKE Yuriko returned to work at the metropolitan government office Sunday, about 20 days after leaving a hospital where she received treatment due to extreme fatigue.

She commuted to the Tokyo government office on the day to attend a videoconference of the National Governors’ Association for discussions on novel coronavirus countermeasures.

“I have caused tremendous concern. I’m in good shape now and returning to normal work from today,” Koike told reporters who were waiting for her arrival at the metropolitan government building.

Koike was hospitalized Oct. 27 due to extreme fatigue. The governor of the Japanese capital left the hospital Nov. 2 and had since been working from home.
